1. Who We Are

Recapt ("we", "our", "us") is a Chrome extension and web service that provides AI-powered YouTube video summaries. Our website is getrecapt.com. For privacy inquiries, contact us at contact@getrecapt.com.

2. What Data We Collect

When you use Recapt, we collect:

• Email address — collected via Google OAuth when you sign in. Used solely to identify your account and manage your subscription.
• Usage counts — we store the number of summaries you generate per day to enforce free plan limits. This is stored locally on your device via Chrome's storage API.
• YouTube video transcripts — when you request a summary, the transcript of the current video is sent to our AI processing service to generate the summary. Transcripts are not stored permanently after processing.
• YouTube video comments — when you use the comment analysis feature, top comments from the current video are sent to our AI service. Comments are not stored permanently after processing.

We do not collect: browsing history, passwords, financial information, location data, or any data from pages other than YouTube video pages.

3. How We Use Your Data

• To authenticate you and manage your account
• To enforce free plan usage limits
• To generate AI summaries and analysis of YouTube videos you choose to summarize
• To manage your subscription status via LemonSqueezy

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to providing the Recapt service.

4. Third-Party Services

Recapt uses the following third-party services:

• Supabase — user authentication and account storage. Supabase Privacy Policy
• Google OAuth — sign-in only. We receive your email address and name. Google Privacy Policy
• LemonSqueezy — payment processing for Pro subscriptions. We share your email address with LemonSqueezy to manage your subscription. LemonSqueezy Privacy Policy
• n8n (AI processing) — video transcripts and comments are sent to our private n8n automation server to generate AI summaries using Google Gemini. Data is not retained after processing.

5. Data Storage & Security

Your authentication session (access token, email, plan status) is stored locally on your device using Chrome's storage.local API. This data never leaves your device except for authentication verification with Supabase.

We use HTTPS for all data transmission. Our infrastructure is hosted on Supabase and Vercel, both of which maintain industry-standard security practices.

6. Data Retention

• Account data (email, plan): Retained while your account is active. Deleted upon account deletion request.
• Video transcripts & comments: Processed in real-time and not stored permanently.
• Local extension data: Stored on your device. Cleared when you sign out or uninstall the extension.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Sign out at any time from the extension popup or sidebar
• Uninstall the extension, which removes all locally stored data

8. Children's Privacy

Recapt is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us at contact@getrecapt.com.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Recapt after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
